conservation volunteers

The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) is a community volunteering charity that works to create healthier and happier communities for everyone through environmental conservation and practical volunteering tasks. With a local office in Hastings, TCV provide a range of local volunteering activities, practical projects and family-friendly events throughout Hastings & Rother.

Due to the ongoing success of their Health Walks and practical conservation activities, TCV are looking for new volunteers to join them. Volunteers are particularly needed for the East Sussex Bio-diversity Action Team (BAT) and Health Walk programmes. The BAT Projects are one day activities that tackle biodiversity loss, climate change and access to nature. Typical activities could include managing woodlands, restoring ponds & waterways, hedge-laying and improving public access. Health Walks are short, friendly walks lasting no longer than an hour. Anyone can join one, but they're specifically designed to encourage those that would benefit from more exercise to give walking a go. There are currently over 30 organised Health Walks in East Sussex with a strong demand for new routes. If you are interested in a becoming a Health Walk Leader or volunteering for the practical conservation days you can find out more at www.tcv.org.uk/southeast or by calling the East Sussex office on 01424 444 675.
