Westfield Cricket Club: JUNIOR CRICKET
Westfield C.C. are embarking on two initiatives to get young people playing cricket with the aim of making sure that cricket thrives and survives in the village. Cricket has been played in Westfield since 1790.
The Club provides opportunities for young people to receive coaching and competition in cricket. This follows co-operation between Westfield School, Sussex Cricket Foundation and Westfield CC. All coaching is by qualified coaches who are trained and have been screened for their suitability for working with young people. We have also joined EACA Under 11 Softball League to give the young people the experience of competition.
ECB have recently launched a new initiative for 5 to 8 year olds called All Stars, and Westfield CC joined this initiative to enhance the Junior section. Again this is in co-operation with Westfield School and Sussex Cricket Foundation who are running the scheme on behalf of ECB. Following the successful All Stars and Dynamos programmes. the Club has been able to add to its junior teams, with U10, U12, U12, and U13 sides being fielded.
If you have children who would be interested in joining the Junior section initiative then please contact Westfield CC and they will let you have a form to register them for the Junior section.
If you have children who would be interested in joining the All Stars initiative then you can also register them on line at www.allstarscricket.co.uk
We welcome parents to all training and competitions and value your support. We are keen to try and involve parents in the club so if you would like to be involved with our Club generally please introduce yourself.
