The Westfield Community Association was founded to promote the social and recreational well being of the inhabitants of Westfield and to provide facilities for achieving this aim. It comprises representatives from voluntary groups and individuals elected each year to form the Westfield Community Association Council. A copy of the constitution is available at the foot of this page.

WCA Events are organised throughout the year. The village fete, carols around the tree, seniors tea party, barn dances are a few community events organised.

The Community Hall was built through the hard work of volunteers and is now used as a shared facility between the community and the local primary school. Its management committee is formed by representatives from the Association, ESCC and the school, and the Parish Council. The Westfield Draw.  This is a monthly lottery organised to raise funds for Westfield Community Association.  The annual subscription, presently £10, may be paid for entry into the draw by reading details in May's WCA Newsletter, putting in an envelope your contact details with cash or cheque payable 'WCA' and leaving at The New Inn or by contacting the organiser Mrs Pauline Filsell-Page on 0778 607 8588.  There are six monthly prizes of £50, £20, £15, 2 x £10 and £5 with a Christmas Bonus of £100.  The draw takes place on the last Friday of the month in Strawberry Fair.  Winners are notified and published in the Community Newletter.  Subs are due in June each year with details in the May WCA Newsletter or contact the organiser.

Pauline Filsell PageThe Westfield Community Newsletter. This quarterly newsletter is delivered free to almost every home in the parish and has a circulation of around 1270 - 1300. It is packed with information about what has happened and is happening in the parish and provides an extensive directory of advertisements from local businesses. The WCA council is made up of representatives from many local clubs and associations, These meetings are to facilitate the running of the Community Hall (Workhouse Lane), the publication of the Westfield Community Newsletter and to assist with community based projects.
At the 2017 AGM on 19 June the current chairman stepped down but remained as a council member and on the Hall Management Committee. At the council meeting on Monday 10 July a vote resulted in the Chair position being filled by Annie Nijhuis.  There was no change of Secretary, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. but Treasurer Annie Nijhuis will step down when a new person comes forward.  A couple of vacancies remain on the Community Council for individual residents.  If you are interested in being on this committee please contact the Chair, Mrs Annie Nijhuis (This email address is being protected from spambots. New members are always welcome.

Meetings take place every three months in Westfield Community Hall (Dining Hall) at 7pm for 7.30pm start. The 2018 dates are:

The WCA entered, thanks to Annie, a 'Christmas Tree exhibit' in 2015 in the Church Festival highlighting other Westfields around the world; the 2016 entry was 'Christmas Feast',.The 2017 theme is 'The Love of Christmas'.
