We are now in to the second half of a busy season. We had a good run in the Busbridge Bash T20 competition, finishing joint second in the league stages.

With 6 games to go in the league we are currently in fourth position with a game in hand so have everything to play for in terms of getting promotion.

The recent tour of Dorset and Hampshire was enjoyed by all of those members that went. However, the results were not good as we lost on both occasions but a good time was had by all.

In addition to all the efforts on the pitch we had a successful Open Day which was held at Westfield School in conjunction with the Sussex Cricket Foundation and Westfield School following which 21 pupils were invited to attend Summer coaching at Horntye. I am pleased to report that 9 pupils have already attended this free coaching by Sussex Cricket Foundation. This event was the beginning of our new junior section which starts in the 2017 season. In the meantime our club will be holding some lunchtime sessions at Westfield School from 8th September, and Sussex Cricket Foundation will be holding 20 weeks of free coaching at an after school club, at the school, from the end of October until March 2017.

All in all a busy but very promising season so far and we are looking forward to a successful 2nd half of the season.
