Westfield C.C. CricketFest2017
What a fantastic day and a great success for the inaugural CricketFest held by Westfield C.C. with a packed cricket ground enjoying the lovely weather as well as some very entertaining cricket led by our All Stars and followed by our ever growing Colts section. There was a really great fun game of cricket in the afternoon played by all ages with The Landlords side narrowly beating a side from Westfield C.C. by 1 run thanks to some dubious tactics on both sides but it was really good entertainment watched by an enthusiastic crowd---well there was a bar!
W.C.C. would like to thank everybody who turned out to support the event as well as all of those who worked so hard on the day especially Patrick and his staff who provided an excellent and cheerful catering service from the bar, BBQ, teas and cakes. Also a big thank you to all the various local stalls and clubs who supported us on the day---Annie (WCA), Angie, Linda and Val (Raffle/Tombola/Teddy), Astrid (Queen of Cupcakes), Zoe (Facepainting), Heath Moy (Speed Football), Stewart and Stevie (Coconut Shy), Mick (Bowls), Henry (Putting), Claire (Bouncy Castle), Leggy (Play Your Cards Right) and Kevin who was an excellent Master of Ceremonies on the day. A big thank you also to all the cricketers who worked tirelessly on the day and making it the success it was.
We are already discussing the possibility of holding a similar event next year so “watch this space”.
Now a lot more local residents know where the cricket ground is we hope to see more of you coming along and supporting our / your local club.
Westfield Draw subsriptions are now due for renewal. This is run by the WCA, and proceeds are used for the benefit of residents. New members are especially welcome - just contact Pauline. See the posters for details.
